The final fat face problem we will discuss is the turkey neck. Though the name sounds funny, if you suffer from this problem, you know first hand how un‐funny it is. When you have a turkey neck, you have excess skin or fatty bands hanging down from your chin and jawline area. Imagine having a double chin and jowls, but it goes all the way down your neck and the skin is all lose and swinging around. Sound awful? That's a turkey neck!
Turkey necks can be caused by being overweight. Remember how I said all the fat face problems can be connected to being overweight? Well, the turkey neck is no exception. Sometimes, instead of forming just a double chin or just jowls, or both, this excess fat underneath the neck stretches all the way down the neck. Plus, it gets worse as you get older because the neck area will gain weight even faster and more easily
Next, like jowls, turkey necks can be caused by age. As we get older the platysma muscle loosens. The muscle separates into bands, usually two distinct bands which will go straight from the chin to the lower neck. Without proper elasticity, the skin will follow the contour of the two bands, revealing to the world that your platysma muscle has loosened and separated. The skin can hang down and sway or stay in place. The final result is a barely visible jawline.
Turkey Neck Solutions
Young people with turkey necks don't necessarily have a platysma muscle that has separated in two. Sometimes it seems like there is a massive double chin, or like the neck has completely disappeared. If your turkey neck is caused by excess weight, then like all the fat face problems, the best solution is to lose weight and to maintain a healthy diet and exercise routine while doing neck exercises.
Just like the other fat face problems, turkey necks can disappear once the excess weight has been lost. Helping the rest of the turkey neck along by continuing neck exercises even after you've lost weight can help you get rid of your turkey neck permanently. This will give you a better defined jawline, and a more chiseled, classic, younger look.
