Neck Liposuction

Turkey necks can be one of the most annoying fat face problems there are. They are signs of excess fat, rapid weight loss, and age. No one likes having a turkey neck, and many people will do all that they can to rid themselves of it. This is why neck liposuction has become an almost necessary option for many people who suffer from turkey necks. The surgery is quite effective, and can lead to some stunning results. Successful neck liposuction procedures often leave people very happy with their thinner, tighter, and more youthful looking necks.

Though the surgery is effective, and it does work for many people, not everyone can undergo neck liposuction. The neck is a rather complex part of the body. It holds up the head, connecting the brain to all other parts of the body through the spinal cord or column, and there are other parts of the neck, including several bones and muscles which all serve valuable purpose. Because these structures are all connected, and all help in supporting the head, neck surgery can be risky, as all surgeries can be. Your doctor will be the one to determine whether or not you are eligible for neck liposuction. Your neck and its structures may hinder a successful surgery, and if that is the case it is probably safer not to go through the procedure.

If you are a candidate for neck liposuction, however, you can expect that your neck liposuction surgery will involve making incisions in certain areas of the neck or underneath the jaw, and sucking out the fat in the neck area. The fat should only be sucked out to a certain extent however, and not completely. Fat does serve a purpose in the neck, and taking away too much fat can leave certain neck structures visible and vulnerable, and actually unsightly. This is why it is so important that your doctor know all the structures of your neck to see exactly how much fat can be removed. It’s also important to check and see if the neck muscles will respond to the surgery by tightening. Sometimes neck muscles like the platysma muscle do not respond as well, and will have to be tightened during the neck liposuction or afterwards during stitching.

Neck liposuction also comes with side effects. Numbness, swelling, pain, scarring, and a recovery period are all typical in this type of surgery. You will also have to follow certain post-operation procedures or practices. These are all apart from the risk of infection or allergic reactions to medicines or anesthesia that may be used. Do extensive research and get several opinions before undergoing neck liposuction to make sure you know what you will be dealing with. You have to cover all your bases before going through with this procedure, and it’s always better to be safe than sorry.
