Make-Up Tricks

Some of the best tricks you can have up your sleeve when it comes to hiding facial fat or neck fat are the tricks and illusions you can create with make‐up. When using make‐up, there are so many ways you can shadow areas while highlighting others. It also gives you a chance to accentuate your best assets, forcing people to look at your more appealing features, and diminishing attention to the features you find unappealing.

The first thing to do when using make‐up for these tricks is to get good brands. They may be a bit pricey, but they are usually well worth it. Try to get light make‐up in whatever medium it is you're comfortable with. Thicker make‐up has a tendency to look cakey which will accentuate the chubbiness you are trying to hide, as well as age your face. If you prefer liquid make‐up as a medium, make sure it is very thin, and doesn't get clumpy. It has to be smooth and should blend well into your skin, almost like second skin. If you would rather get powdered make up, then go for mineral make‐up which is very light and also blends well with the skin given the right color.

Your first concern will be foundation. Be sure you get a foundation that is the same color as your skin. This gives you a good base to start with. A good foundation can make your skin seem flawless, which is what you want. A clean canvass is the goal of foundation because it allow you to create all the shadows and accents yourself. Some women have acidic or oily faces which turns foundation darker as it is worn. If this is the case with your skin, choose a foundation that is one shade lighter so as to prevent your face from looking too dark and unnatural.

Next, make sure your blush, shimmer, or bronzer matches your foundation well. Gone are the days when make up was all about showing everyone blood red lips and painted cheeks. Now, (and especially for hiding facial fat) make‐up has to look natural. Choose a blush, shimmer, or bronzer which is just one or two shades darker than your foundation shade, and be sure to stick to natural colors. Bronze and very pale rose are good shades to look out for.

Eye make‐up can be pretty harsh, and so you have to make sure you get light powdery eye make up as well. Look at the texture of the make up and see if it can be just lightly dusted on. Even if the powder itself is compacted, you should be able to loosen enough to just lightly dust your eyes. Again more natural looks are favored like browns, bronzes, golds, or frosts.

If you like playing around with colored eyeshadow, be sure the color matches your foundation or your skin tone. If you have light skin, you can go for lighter fun colors like pale pinks or blues. A natural beige skin tone can opt for dark greens of deep purples. Darker skinned women though should stick to glossy or shimmery silvers. Always line your eye with eyeliner. Be sure the eyeliner complements the colors you've chosen. For neutral colors, choose bronzes and browns. For lighter or darker colors, choose a dark eyeliner like black; it will really make your eyes stand out.

Finally, lip make up. Though lipstick is still used, lightly colored lip glosses have become more popular. This is because it is has a lighter more neutral look, and it also gives a more casual youthful look to your entire appearance. Lipstick is often associated with glamour and very formal parties, so for everyday make‐up, a lightly tinted lip gloss is actually the perfect match.
