Make-Up Tricks for Double Chin

We mentioned earlier that if you want to play around with highlights in your hair in order to draw attention away from your double chin, you can complete the look by giving yourself sun‐kissed skin. This sun‐kissed effect was discussed extensively in the Chubby Cheeks article, and you can refer to that article when trying to create this look. Just remember, that since you have a double chin and not just chubby cheeks, you will have to put some bronzer below your chin as well, following the bone structure, so as to complete the shadowed effect.

When it comes to double chins, however, the best part of your face to highlight are the eyes. Focusing on this feature will draw all attention away from your chin. Plus, it can be a lot of fun because you can play around with a lot of different styles and colors.

First, apply eyeshadow onto your eyes. If it's day time and you want a natural look, go for a medium brown on the lower part of the eyelid, followed by a lighter brown, bronze or gold on the upper part of the lid. Next, line your eyes with a bronze liner so that they pop out, but at the same time blend in with the other colors. Top this with dark brown mascara. Browns usually go well with any complexion, which is why they are great for day time wear. For an evening look or for smoky eyes, you will have to choose eyeshadow and eyeliner colors that suit you.

Having fair skin may have always seemed like a problem for your double chin. It's true that your double chin is somewhat more noticeable because your skin is fair, but your complexion actually gives you an advantage when it comes to creating dramatic eye‐catching eyes with make‐up. For an evening or smoky eyed look, choose darker colors like greys, dark silvers, and purples. Choose the lightest color among the dark colors you have, say dark silver. Dust some of the dark silver eyeshadow underneath your eye in a thin line, following the shape of your eye. For a smoky look, put a significant amount, making the line slightly thicker. Placing this line there will make your eyeliner pop out, giving your eyes lots of drama.

Next, take your darkest color, say it's dark grey, and apply this onto your lower eyelid. When you look yourself in the mirror, your eyelid should be dark grey up until where the folds of your eyelids end. Top this with a lighter color by applying a slightly lighter color on the upper part of the lid. You can also choose to top it with the dark grey you used underneath the eye. Smudge this color, making sure it blends with the darker one, and that the two are not separate color portions of your eyes. You want to make it look like it gradually got lighter. Finally, line your eyes with a black liner, keeping it as close to the eyelashes as possible. The combination of black against the dark silver will make your eyes really pop out. To complete the smoky look (if desired) smudge the eyeliner underneath your eye so it blends well with the dark grey.

If you have Asian eyes, which have no folds, you can still achieve a dramatic smoky look. You have to first dab concealer around your eye. Once this has been blended in, highlight your brow line. Next, use the dark silver and apply it onto your eyelid, but not applying on the inner part of your lid, where your eye is near your nose. When you open your eyes, your eyeshadow should be visible. Blend in this color. Next, add the dark grey on top of this color, focusing on the outer part of your lid. Blend it in again. Line your eyes with the dark eyeliner. Then, add a light silver onto the inner part of your lid, and underneath you eye in a thin line. This should give you dramatic smoky eyes.
