How to Lose a Double Chin Without Surgery

Having two heads is better than one, but that doesn't mean having two chins is better than one, so to speak. Having a double chin is actually pretty cool (for a guy), but some people like to think different. If you've got “two” instead of one, and you want to get rid of it, there are plenty of ways to do that.

One way to lose a double chin would be through exercise. The key is to work the neck muscle, which causes the “Siamese twin” to part. Here's one exercise you can do either standing up or sitting down: first, keep your back and neck straight. Next step is to look at the ceiling with your lower jaw hanging loosely, but with your lips gently closed. You'll begin to feel a stretch in the front part of your neck while in this stationary position. When you do, begin to bring your lower jaw up to meet the upper, while still looking straight at the ceiling – repeat the process 10 times.

Another way to lose a double chin is a consistent workout routine. The “condition” is usually caused by genetics, but can also be caused by excess fat. This is why reducing your weight and burning fat will make the “imperfection” less obvious. Weightlifting is a great way for getting the job done – muscles eat up a lot of fat and calories to maintain its size. Therefore, it'll be sucking the fat off your face as well. Other routines involving jogging, swimming, running, aerobics, and other sports have also been proven to come in handy.

Proper diet is another way you can lose a double chin – avoid fatty food and ingredients that trigger water retention (such as salt). Eat a healthy and balanced diet that consists of fruits and vegetables as well.

By following the methods above, you'll be guaranteed to get rid of the “problem” that's been plaguing you for the past few years (or since birth). But if you're really in a rush, and want to get rid of it now, then you may opt to go with surgery (which would be an ironic piece of advice because of the article title). However, I do not recommend the procedure since it's pretty damn expensive and comes with a couple of risks you may not want to take.

On the other hand, if it's really bothering you that much and you can't wait any longer for the results, then here's one solution that you could put to good use right now: the double chin beard. Yes, if you haven't thought of this one yet, having lots of facial hair can actually be a good thing. By growing a beard, you'll be instantly covering up that one asset that has been bringing you down.
