Jowls is a rather difficult problem to deal with when it comes to haircuts. Because you have excess fat on either side of the jawline, you have to find a way to draw attention away from the jaw area. This can be a very tricky task. Most people, when looking at a face will notice the eyes, and then the jaw because it borders the face from the neck. Haircuts or hairstyles that hide jowls will have to find a way to not just draw an onlooker's eyes away from the area, but hide the jowls as well, in case the eyes wander downwards, which they are likely to do.
The first type of haircut you need to consider is one with bangs. Bangs which frame the face work well with jowls, and side swept bangs do well too. If you can add volume to the top of your face with layers and movement, that’s even better. This is another situation when you can play around with colors and highlights. Try finding a style that accentuates your cheekbones, and play around with color on your cheeks.
After drawing the eyes upwards, it's time to hide the jowls. A long cut with gentle waves is one way you can do this because the waves will create areas of dark and light around your face and neck which will make the jowls less obvious. You can also try going for a shaggy bob. This kind of haircut has a lot of movement, and the varying lengths can also create shadows, which will hide the jowls.
If you have jowls, remember to hold your head up high all the time. Maintaining good posture and holding your head upwards is a great way you can hide your jowls because they get stretched upwards. Your neck area becomes more defined, and people can focus on your shoulder definition. Also, carrying yourself well always makes you look slimmer, which is what you are trying to do.
