Like chubby cheeks, double chins make the face look bigger than it really is, giving the illusion that you are chubby when you aren't. Haircuts or hairstyles that work with this kind of problem have to draw attention away from the chin and jaw area. Any haircut that draws attention to this area will accentuate the double chin. It is best to draw the eyes upwards or towards either side of your face because eyes that get drawn downwards can catch sight of that double chin, and that's definitely something you don't want!
Having a lot of volume or something attention grabbing on top will make people look towards your forehead and eyes instead of towards your neck. Some people who have double chins and are in the process of shrinking them, actually choose to use head or hair accessories as a way to draw attention away from their chins for the meantime. Large headbands (which have really come back to style lately) or interesting hats and bows are some ways you can draw attention towards the top of your head and away from your chin.
Next, find ways to frame your eyes. You can choose to do this with layers and curls or through bangs. Framing your eyes will draw attention to them, and will not only draw attention away from your chin, but give people something to look at. Well framed eyes always look pretty, and pretty eyes are something many people find attractive. You can accentuate this further by using the right make‐up tricks, which we will discuss later.
Consider having side‐swept bangs in order to draw attention to the top of your head. The bangs will also frame your eyes well. Long side swept bangs can be matched with a hair stylethat ends halfway down the neck and flips upwards. This upward flip will draw attention to either side of your face, or maybe your shoulders if you choose to keep the length at shoulder length. With eyes being brought to the top of your head and to either side, you successfully mask the double chin.
Finally, look into getting an inverted bob of some sort wherein there is lots of volume on top of your head and minimal volume below, near your chin area. You can also play around with highlights around the top of your head. Both these tricks will draw the eyes upwards and away from your chin. Highlights will also make you look younger and healthier because they carry the subliminal message of sun‐kissed hair. You can couple this with make‐up that also gives you a sun‐kissed glow to complete the effect. More on how to do that in the make‐up section.
