Binge eating disorder which causes people to go through binge sessions in which they consume large quantities of food and then go into a depressive state afterwards, is an eating disorder that is not well known, but does exist. Most people who have binge eating disorder are overweight. Characteristics of the disorder include hiding how much they eat, eating alone or in the dark, and having guilt feelings after a binge session which can sometimes depress the individual. In this case, the chubby cheeks are caused by the excess weight.
Apart from chubby cheeks, there are other more serious effects eating disorders have on your body. Your skin can look terrible, your teeth and bones can become affected, and you risk damaging some of your internal systems or organs. If you think you have an eating disorder, it is best to seek medical help before attending to your chubby cheeks. Get yourself healthy, happy, and well before looking to see if you truly have chubby cheeks and if you need to lose facial fat.
The fifth question to ask yourself regarding your chubby cheeks is a painful question to answer. Is it genetic? The answer to this question is painful to hear if the answer is 'yes.' Studies have proven that many people have chubby cheeks as a result of their genes. To determine whether or not this problem is genetic, look at your family members. Start with your immediate family. Do they have the same physical trait? If no one in your immediate family has chubby cheeks, look at your grandparents, uncles, and aunts. Do they have it? If your family members have chubby cheeks, then there's a chance your cheeks are genetic. If no one else but you does, then it probably has another cause.
If your chubby cheeks are genetic, you can do some facial exercises to thin it out and strengthen your cheek muscles. Following the correct diet and exercise routine can also help thin them out. However, your cheeks will stop thinning at a certain point. They will be only as thin as they can be. If this is acceptable to you, then great! However, if it is not acceptable to your standards, you will have to seek other methods of losing the facial fat. This is because exercising can only do so much for your cheeks, and because your genes dictate that your cheeks be a certain size and plumpness.
The last question to ask yourself is: are you eating right? Many chubby cheek sufferers have chubby cheeks because of an improper diet. If you tend to snack on foods that are less than healthy, it can affect your facial fat. If this is the case, it is best to get yourself on a healthy cleansing diet, which should thin out your cheeks of the unneeded fat stores. We will discuss the best diet for losing facial fat in the next articles.
Other times, you can be slightly allergic to some of the foods you eat often, and as a result your cheeks are at a constant state of puffy. You have lived with it your whole life, so you don't really notice or realize it. If you suspect your chubby cheeks are due to very mild allergies, you can try an elimination diet which will be prescribed to you by a nutritionist. What your nutritionist will do is ask you to stop eating certain foods which some people have slight allergies to until the problem food is identified. Once identified, you simply have to stop eating this food, and your cheeks will go down. It may not be a total cure and you may still need cheek exercises, but it will definitely help!
