Face Wrinkles

As we get older, our skin begins to form wrinkles. This is usually evident in our face and neck. Wrinkles are a sign of age and wisdom, and they can be attractive, but in moderation. Wrinkles form for several reasons, and they usually follow specific contours. Luckily, face wrinkles can be avoided or prevented for long periods, but eventually some will have to settle in.

When face wrinkles follow contours, they usually follow the shapes our face often makes. This is why wrinkles or lines on our faces have names. You can have laugh lines, which are the wrinkles that form by your cheeks, which mark the beginning of your cheeks when you smile. You can have frown lines, usually between your eyes, and going downward. You can have eye lines, which form on the side and underneath your eyes, or you can have lines on your forehead, which can come from laughing and frowning as well.

Face wrinkles can form simply because you are getting old. When our skin ages, it slowly loses elasticity, or the ability to bounce right back. This means that the faces we make begin to leave marks, and this leaves wrinkles. It’s something that happens naturally to every person. However, face wrinkles can form prematurely due to exposure to the sun, stress, or lack of care for the skin. When our skin is exposed to the sun, it suffers damage, and when this damage is not attended to, the skin on your face and neck can begin to age prematurely, thus becoming leathery and wrinkly. This is the same with stress and a lack of skin care. Stress can lead to aging the skin, and not attending to it through skin care can worsen the problem. As a result wrinkles can happen to people during their youth.

It is important to discuss the subject of face wrinkles on this site because of the facial exercise regimens that are recommended by some of our articles. When you exercise your face muscles, you contour your face in certain ways. While this is great for the muscle underneath, as it will tone and strengthen the muscle, it is also important to take care of the skin that covers this muscle. Preventing face wrinkles due to exercise strain or due to other causes is something that is easily done. It requires proper diet, proper skin care, and a good facial toning regimen, all of which are discussed in detail in other articles found on this site.

Face wrinkles are something many of us will have to live with one day, but when that day comes, we can be sure that the wrinkles are not caused by sun damage, improper skin care, or the face exercise we used to tone our fat face.
