Face Exercises

One of the best things you can do for yourself is to give yourself a facial exercise regimen that is part of your daily exercises. Not only will these exercises allow you to lose excess facial fat, giving your face a slimmer, more defined look, but they are also great ways to keep your face and neck muscles and skin strong and elastic. As you get older, you will be thankful for this elasticity because you will look younger than people your age. To fully understand why this happens, let's discuss what exactly happens to your face as it ages.  

It is important to keep in mind that your face will naturally lose weight as you get older, and that a full face is often associated with youth. This is why older women with more facial fat tend to look younger while women with very thin faces look older than they are, even when they're young. Before you start worrying about deciding whether or not you want a thin face now or a youthful face in the future, don't panic. Facial exercises will solve both problems. These exercises will give you a slimmer appearance now, and will help you look younger in the future because these exercises will help maintain the strength and elasticity of your facial muscles and skin.

When we're young, our faces are naturally chubby. Usually this chubbiness is found in our cheeks, and sometimes our chins. Often called 'baby fat' because of its association with being a child, many people retain this chubbiness throughout their teen years or during their golden age. After the age of 24, at the end of the golden age, this chubbiness begins to thin out for most people. This is coupled with some early signs of skin aging. Fine lines called motor lines begin to appear around the eyes and around the mouth. These thin wrinkles are the result of facial movements, hence the name “motor lines.”

As you reach your thirties, the collagen production of your skin will begin to slow down. Collagen production is what is responsible for giving us that youthful glowing look and renewed skin. The production of collagen tends to slow down at this age, and becomes noticeable because of a lack of sleep, stress, and our lifestyle. You will also begin to notice small brown spots on your nose and cheeks. These spots are often mistaken for freckles, but they really are dilated blood vessels, a problem which can be made worse by exposure to the sun. Remember this saying: freckles today are age spots tomorrow. That's exactly what's happening.

Considering you are of normal weight and health, your face will begin to thin out more in your forties and the lines around your eyes and mouth will deepen. You will also begin to form lines on your forehead, between your eyebrows, and on your upper lip. If you are a smoker or a frequent drinker, these lines will become more pronounced because both alcohol and nicotine ages the skin. This is also the decade when your face will begin to feel the effects condition, and in most cases this is enough to make many peoplehappy. Any extra chubbiness that your body feels should remain, will remain. The best advice I can give you is to leave that healthy fat there because you will need it in the future. If it's really bothersome to you, however, you will have to seek alternative methods for losing the remaining facial fat.
