Exercises for Face Muscles

Doing exercises for face muscles have a lot of benefits. The first benefit, of course is that you will have more toned face muscles, and as a result have a more well defined face. Your facial features will be slightly more prominent than most, and you will look healthy and good. The second benefit is that keeping healthy, and having a toned face can ward of the signs of aging for a good amount of time. This means that while your counterparts are beginning to look older or their age, you will consistently look younger and more fit. The best benefit of exercises for face muscles, though is that you will feel good. Looking younger and healthy always makes a person feel good, and you will have this good and confident feeling!

Each of the exercises for face muscles target a specific muscle and fat face problem, though some exercises can target two problems at one time. The exercises are usually divided to cheek exercises, double chin exercises, and neck exercises which are usually very similar to those for a double chin and can often target a double chin as well. They are further divided to strengthening and toning, though usually each exercise does both. Since the muscles in your face are not as large as the muscles in your body, exercises for face muscles are usually combination exercises.

An example of an exercise for the cheeks is do exaggerated smiles. The smile is a natural movement for cheek muscles, and so the strain isn’t too great on the muscle. Smile as wide as you can with your teeth showing and hold that position for ten seconds then relax your cheeks. Next smile as wide as you can without your teeth showing and hold that position for ten seconds then relax your cheeks. You can do this five times, twice a day. Coupled with watching your favorite sitcoms, your cheeks will be leaner and more toned in no time!

Chewing hard foods can also help a chubby cheek situation, but it can tone the muscles underneath the chin as well. Chewing gum has been known to tone facial muscles, and this is one way you can tone your muscles all day long! For a simple and specific chin and neck exercise, look up at the ceiling and try kissing it. Go back to your starting position and keep it there for five seconds. Then try kissing the ceiling again. Reaching for the ceiling with your neck stretches and strengthens your neck muscles and reduces your double chin or turkey neck. You can add to the tension by holding down the neck or chin area that feels the tension. Doing this exercise once a day consistently will lessen your double chin and turkey neck in no time!
