If you've never looked at fruits and vegetables in terms of their color, your quest for achieving a slimmer face has now given you a whole new way of looking at them. Now, instead of thinking about what specific fruits and vegetables you should eat, go by color. Actually, go with any color! They're all good for you and they will all help you with what you want to achieve.
Next, there are these two specific foods, which the food pyramid considers as part of the vegetable group, that you should give special attention to. These two are the other sources of protein you can turn to apart from fish, seafood, poultry, game, beef, and pork. Knowing this can especially come in handy when trying to eliminate an excess of red meats in your diet. These two foods are beans and soy.
Studies have shown that both these food groups are great sources of protein. And because they're vegetables, they have other, equally wonderful health benefits as well. Eating beans often is said to reduce your chances for heart disease while eating soy on a regular basis helps regulate your hormone levels (especially true for perimenopausal women!) Because of these benefits and because they are a good substitute source of protein, beans and soy are recommended to everyone who is trying to lead a healthier lifestyle.
If you aren't sure about how you can eat beans and soy, don't worry. There are tons of recipes out there which use these two foods, and these recipes are really tasty too! You can have bean soups, or bean and vegetable burritos to start. When it comes to soy, you can have tofu steaks or Ma Po Tofu, which is an Asian dish that uses tofu as a main ingredient.
So, eat as many and as much vegetables and fruits as you can. They do wonders for your body, your skin, and your facial fat. Not only do they provide you with nutrients, vitamins, and enzymes, but they can be a great source of protein too! Make sure you have at least three cups of fruit and three cups of vegetableseach day. That's one cup of each per meal. If you can have more, go for it! Try choosing fruits as a snack food over commonly eaten snacks. Choosing fruit for your snack is one way you can make sure you are getting a fair amount of goodness into your body!
